Feedback closes 20 September 2023

In 2020/21 Council trialled 15-minutes free parking on Parraween Street, in response to the loss on parking on Military Road as a result of the NSW Government’s Northern Beaches B-line project. Feedback was positive and Council resolved to permanently apply the free 15-minute parking. Subsequently, Council has received feedback that it not long enough for customers running errands with local businesses. On 12 July 2022, Council resolved undertake a 12-month trial for free 30-minute parking in Parraween Street throughout the day.

Weather and other factors permitting, the 12-month, free 30 minutes parking trial will commence from 20 September 2022.

What you need to know

  1. To obtain free parking, park at a metered bay on Parraween St, Cremorne. Select your bay number at the parking meter and press F1 to activate the free parking.
  2. After activating the free parking, you can check when your free parking expires by selecting your bay number on the parking meter and it will display on the screen.
  3. Note that your 30 minutes free parking time starts when your vehicle enters the space, not when you go to the parking meter.
  4. If you intend to stay longer, the 30 minutes free parking will be forfeited and you will need to pay at the meter for the full time used. i.e. 30 minutes will not be deducted from the payment due.
  5. Note these parking meters do not dispense tickets. Parking is electronically monitored.

All feedback will be collated and presented in a report to Council at the end of the trial with a recommendation on whether to make the free parking initiative permanent. Council will notify local businesses and residents of the outcome regardless of whether it will proceed.
