Tunks Park near the boat ramp

Submissions closes Sunday 12 November 2023

Council’s Small Water Craft Storage Strategy (2018) highlighted Tunks Park as a site that could accommodate additional formal storage facilities for water crafts.

Council has allocated funds for investigations, consultation and design of a small water storage facility and associated landscape upgrade to manage the storage of water craft on public land on the harbour foreshore in an effective and equitable manner, for the benefit of water craft owners and for the convenience and enjoyment of those who access and use Tunks Park for general recreation.

Feedback is invited on two location options (available in document libraries) for small watercraft storage in Tunks Park between 3 October to 12 November 2023:

  • Location 1 - Lower Clf Ave: one-sided multilevel kayak racks (storage capacity 8-10 kayaks)
  • Location 2 - Mortlock Reserve (storage capacity 8-20 kayaks)
    • Option 1 - low to the ground kayak racks
    • Option 2 - multilevel two-sided kayak racks

Storage capacity and design will be dictated by the preferred location. There is currently no existing small water craft storage on this site.

Note: this survey is not a voting form, but it will help Council understand the level of support for the preferred location and designs. While it is not intended to respond to individual respondents, all feedback received will be carefully considered. The community feedback report will be presented in the post-exhibition report.
