McHatton Street and Pacific Highway, North Sydney - Continuous footpath treatment

Council has received safety concerns about the pedestrians crossing McHatton Street at the Pacific Highway. This issue has been identified and listed in the North Sydney Council Local Area Traffic Management Plan 2019 (LATM). In response to these concerns, Council is planning to construct a continuous footpath treatment across McHatton Street at the intersection with Pacific Highway. The proposed change would require drivers to give way to pedestrians crossing the road and would also slow down drivers before entering McHatton Street.

To facilitate the changes, the No Stopping restriction is also proposed to be extended to the western side of the adjacent driveway at 30 McHatton Street. As it illegal to park across a driveway, there is no loss to the number of car parking spaces.
