Will the new lighting affect wildlife or the habitat?

Primrose Park provides habitat for a number of very significant nocturnal fauna - including NSW-listed threatened species (Powerful Owl; Large Bent-wing Bat; Little Bent-wing Bat).  Whilst the proposed lighting will be timed to operate in accordance with use of the oval or tennis centre, the additional light pollution impact will likely be minimal. Council will seek to utilise a “warmer” colour temperature lighting around the 3,000k range (or lower).  This lessens the impact on nocturnal fauna - especially if the carpark lights remain on for a set period after the main park/court lights go off.
