Submissions closed Thursday 29 March 2018.

Council sought stakeholder feedback regarding proposed improvement works in Kesterton Park, Neutral Bay a s part of the 2017/18 Capital Works Program. Council received 13 submissions which largely supported the proposed works and no substantive objections were received - the summary of submissions received can be viewed in the Document Library.

The works were undertaken between mid April and mid May and included:

  • A new pathway from High Street ferry wharf linking with the over-water walkway to the former HMAS Platypus site (constructed by the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust), and a new pathway connecting to the newly refurbished playground.
  • Fencing and signage repairs and new bollards to prevent unauthorised vehicular access.
  • New seating, garden planting and turfing.

Following community feedback some additional improvements were also proposed, including: a path link to the toilet block; some sandstone paved standing areas along the fence line; inclusion of horizontal wires in the seawall fence; an increase in pathway width from 1.8m to 2m, and consideration of a new drinking fountain should budget permit. These items are noted in the "Response" column of the Summary of Submissions document (available from the Document Library). These additional works were completed at the same time as the main works, with the exception of the new drinking fountain which has been listed for consideration in future capital works budgets.
