Community Development Strategy

Council has a suite of plans and strategies that support the implementation of the North Sydney Community Strategic Plan. From a community development perspective, these currently include:
- Family & Children’s Services Strategy (2018)
- Older Person's Strategy
- Youth Work Action Plan
- Affordable Housing Strategy
- Homeless Strategy
- Arts & Cultural Strategic Plan (2019)
As part of this process, the idea of creating a Community Development Strategy will be explored. This plan could provide a framework to guide the implementation of our separate plans or it could incorporate a few of the plans listed above.
Stage 1 - Preliminary Engagement

Council will also utilise available data including - 2020 Customer Satisfaction Survey results, 2021 Liveability Census and ABS statistics to inform the new Strategy; as well as will also be informed by the review of the North Sydney Community Strategic Plan Review.

The Stage 1 feedback will be used to inform the preparation of the draft Community Development Strategy. The draft Strategy will be reported to Council in 2022/23, seeking endorsement to publicly exhibit the document for a minimum of 28 days, during which time submissions will be invited.
