Street Play Pilot Program

Consultation has concluded

Nominations for pilot program closed 2 October 2020.

In Spring 2020, Council launched a popup ‘Street Play’ pilot program, where streets are transformed into public open spaces for kids to play and the community to enjoy.

Streets participating in the program will be temporarily closed to through traffic or have additional parking restrictions so that road space can be ‘opened for people’ (access to properties will be maintained at all times through formal traffic control).

Council received a large number of requests to participate in the program and identified streets for the first 5 street play days in areas where there was high levels of interest (see key dates). However, there are potentially additional opportunities to have a ‘play day’ in autumn 2021, so we encourage you to get in contact with us (details below) to discuss your idea with Council.

To ask questions about the program or discuss your ideas for an event contact Council’s Sustainable Transport Projects Coordinator, Lindsay Menday at Lindsay.Menday@northsydney.nsw.gov.au or 9936 8100.
