Policies on Exhibition

Council at its meeting of 19 November 2018 resolved to place the following policies on exhibition for public comment:

  • Amended Complaints Handling Policy - feedback closes 19 December 2018 (28 days)
  • Amended Enterprise Risk Management Policy - feedback closes 28 December 2018 (28 days excluding public holidays)
  • Amended Code of Meeting Principles and Practice - feedback closes 20 January 2019 (60 days)


Background

The proposed amendments to Council’s Complaints Handling Policy are in response to recommendations arising from the Internal Auditor’s review of Council’s complaints handling management. All amendments are indicated in red/italic font for new and strike-through for deletion.

Council’s Enterprise Risk Management Policy was last updated in 2012/13. The proposed amendments are considered minor amendment and included revised enterprise risk management principles, introduction of the Protective Security Framework, and updated operational processes and roles. Attachments A shows the proposed policy that would replace the current version (Attachment B).

The proposed amendments to Council’s Code of Meeting Principles and Practice are in response to Notice of Motion No. 31-18 (refer to Document Library), which propose amendment to Clause 38.2 Members of the Public Addressing Council. All amendments are indicated in red/italic font for new and strike-through for deletion.

  • at Council’s Customer Service Centre, 200 Miller Street, North Sydney, from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
  • at Stanton Library, 234 Miller Street, North Sydney, from 9am to 9pm Monday to Thursday, 9am to 6pm on Friday and from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The draft Model Code of Meeting Practice was recently exhibited. Submissions were received and the matter was referred back to Council on 29 October 2018. There was no resolution to adopt the draft Model Code.

The Amended Catering Provision Policy was recently exhibited and as submissions were reported to Council on 19 November 2018. Council resolved to adopt the proposed amendments.
