Stage 1 - Preliminary Feedback

North Sydney Council is committed to understanding and responding to the needs of older people in our community. In early 2018 we sought input to update our Older Persons Strategy to ensure it reflects the needs and issues of older people in our community. Feedback closed 5pm, Friday 27 April 2018. We encouraged participation from all community members, including individuals, family members, carers and service providers. There were several ways to provide feedback:

  • Quick Survey - open to the general public. As an incentive to participate Council gave away a $100 gift voucher to one randomly selected survey respondent.
  • Submissions - send a submission to the address below or use the online submission form.
  • Focus Groups - these sessions brought together community members, service providers and key stakeholders to discuss local issues for older people:
    - Session 1: Tuesday 20 March 2018, 10am to 12pm, Stanton Library, Conference Room
    - Session 2: Thursday 22 March 2018, 2pm to 4pm, Crows Nest Centre

Stage 2 - Draft Strategy on Exhibition, Feedback closes 5pm, 18 December 2018

Council resolved at its meeting held 29 October 2018 to place the draft Older Persons Strategy 2018 - 2022 on public exhibition for 28 days from 21 November to 18 December 2018.

    Please ensure you have reviewed the draft Older Persons Plan prior to completing this form. You can view the draft strategy in document library.

    All submissions received will be reported to Council. Council will then determine what further amendments are required to finalise the Older Persons Plan, if any.
