PROPOSAL TO MERGE THE PRECINCT AREAS OF NEUTRAL, HAYES & KURRABA

Hayes and Kurraba Precinct Committees have been inactive for many years due to the lack of office bearers to run the respective Committees.

For some time now, Neutral Precinct Committee has extended its meeting invitations to community members from the neighbouring Precinct areas of Hayes and Kurraba.

Neutral Precinct Committee is proposing a formal merger of the three Precinct areas to become one large Precinct area (refer to proposed map in the document library).

Neutral Precinct Committee is seeking preference feedback from eligible community members (residents, workers, students and businesses) on:

  • OPTION 1 - Merger of Neutral, Hayes & Kurraba Precincts
  • OPTION 2 - Status quo, maintain the three individual Precinct area/reactive Hayes & Kurraba Precincts
  • OPTION 3 - Other (please detail) e.g. merger of Hayes & Kurraba Precincts

If there is majority support for Option 1, Council will work with the current office bearers of Neutral Precinct Committee to facilitate the merger (as recently occurred between Edward and Union Precinct Committees to become Euroka Precinct Committee). Council's role is to help set up the new Precinct Committee. A new executive committee will be elected at the next AGM. Include your contact details if you are interested in being an office bearer.

If there is majority support for Option 2 or 3, Council will work with interested community members to reactive Hayes and Kurraba Precinct Committees. Include your contact details if you are interested in finding out more about being an office bearer.
