In 2021, Council employed consultants Families At Work (FAW), to undertake the Children’s Service Review, as part of the review of the Family & Children’s Services Strategy component of the new Community Development Strategy. This included interviews with key education and care service stakeholders, a focus group with representatives from children’s services operating from Council-owned facilities, phone surveys conducted with all children’s services providers in the local government area and desktop research. The Review findings and consultant’s recommendations were reported to Council on 25 October 2021.

Recommendation No. 2 of the adopted recommendations arising from the Children’s Service Review (2021)is to conduct a survey of the families who use children’s services operating from Council owned facilities, asking for specific feedback in relation to the current and future iterations of the Family & Children’s Services Strategy. This survey is open until 22 September 2022 and the results will be used to benchmark against the previous survey to inform Council on current issues. Some new questions regarding impacts of the COVID pandemic are included to further assist Council’s understanding of issues affecting families and children.

As an incentive, all those that completed the survey could opt-in for the draw to win a $50 shopping voucher (Terms and Conditions available on this page).
