Draft External Communications Strategy 2019-2021

Council’s Draft External Communications Strategy 2019 - 2021 (available in the document library) outlines communications priorities across the organisation for the next two years.

This Draft Strategy recognises all Departments across Council play a role in communicating with our stakeholders. The Strategy identifies key actions from the North Sydney Community Strategic Plan 2018-2028 and the Delivery Program 2018/19-2020/21.

The Draft Strategy builds on four existing priority areas of the previous Strategy to:

  • engage and inform our community
  • support economic development
  • enhance digital communications; and
  • build Council’s identity.

It also confirms the need to pursue multiple channels for effective communication and supports the expansion of Council’s digital channels and capabilities in this area, in particular, video and social media.

The Draft Strategy places increased emphasis on partnering with local businesses to promote North Sydney as a visitor destination, in line with the tourism initiatives identified in the North Sydney Community Strategic Plan 2018-2028.
