The new draft Plan of Management for Cremorne Reserve was on public exhibition from 6 October - 21 November 2021 (available in the document library or click here).

The draft Plan of Management (PoM) for Cremorne Reserve sets out Council’s land management objectives for the Reserve, addresses current issues and identifies and prioritises required work. It meets Council’s objectives regarding land management under the Local Government Act 1993, the Crown Land Management Act 2016 and the Native Title Act 1993 and enables flexibility of use by Council and the community.

Further background information on Cremorne Reserve is available on the ‘background’ tab below or click here.

Council is progressively preparing a new suite of Plans of Management that address relevant Crown reserves to comply with the requirements of The Crown Land Management Act 2016 which came into force in July 2018. View more information including FAQs and a list of areas that are included here.

Note: Submissions are considered open access information under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009. In the interests of public transparency, submission in its entirety may be made available via Council’s website. Submitters are encouraged to read Council’s Information Sheet: Making a Submission to Council prior to making a submission. All feedback received will be considered, however it is not intended to reply to individual respondents.

For further information call Megan White, Council's Landscape Planner on 9936 8100.

Next Steps

Council’s project team is reviewing all submissions. A report to Council will outline the community’s responses to the draft PoM, and any changes needed to finalise the document resulting from the submissions. Once adopted, the document will replace Council’s existing PoM for Cremorne Reserve 2013.

Cremorne Reserve is one of Council’s most significant and best-loved parks. Fringing the Cremorne Point peninsula on the northern harbour foreshore between Mosman Bay and Shell Cove, this narrow, linear Reserve is approximately three kilometres long.

The foreshore location and linear character, together with the lighthouse at the tip of Robertsons Point, make Cremorne Reserve an important harbour landmark. From Robertsons Point, the view stretches from North Head and Bradleys Head in the northeast, all the way around the eastern suburbs, to the city and Harbour Bridge in the west.

Cremorne Reserve is a significant public open space for locals and the wider Sydney community. Recreational facilities include a playground with fitness equipment and Maccallum Pool, a public harbour swimming pool operated by Council. Other features include an interpretive signage trail that follows the main foreshore pathway and areas of urban bushland and English-style garden areas that are popular with walkers and picnickers. The foreshore pathway connects the North Sydney and Mosman Council areas.
