North Sydney Council is working to create an engaging and resilient CBD that offers a greater range of activities and unique public spaces for workers, residents and visitors. A CBD that is appealing and easy to move about.

To achieve this, a comprehensive planning review must be undertaken. The preparation of a Public Domain Strategy for the CBD forms a key part of the review.

    Precinct Committee members are invited to attend the two-stage workshops for Precinct Committees. These are aimed at members and residents of Precincts neighbouring North Sydney CBD but is also open to any Precinct member who takes a keen interest in the CBD.

    The workshops are each 1.5 hours long. Both workshops will be held at McMahons Point Community Centre, 165 Blues Point Road, McMahons Point.

    The workshops will be led by ASPECT Studios on the following dates. Please ensure you are available to attend both workshops.

    Workshop 1 -  Wednesday 16 May 2018, 7pm

    Precinct Committee members are invited to attend the two-stage workshops for Precinct Committees. These are aimed at members and residents of Precincts neighbouring North Sydney CBD but is also open to any Precinct member who takes a keen interest in the CBD.

    Workshop 1 -  Wednesday 16 May 2018, 7pm

    The first workshop and will give you a chance to review early concept ideas based on feedback already given across a range of engagement activities undertaken in previous years (e.g. Community Strategic Plan Review, CDB Laneways Review, NTH SYD program).

    Workshop 2 - 13 June 2018, 7pm 

    In response to feedback heard on the early concept ideas, draft design concepts for the strategy will be developed by ASPECT. This workshop will test interpretation of feedback and refine draft concepts.

    Registration is essential.

    Note: Workshops are small in nature i.e. participant numbers are limited. A mix of randomly selected and self-nominated participants will be chosen to take part in the focus groups to ensure the feedback collected is representative of the North Sydney community in terms of gender, age diversity and geographical spread. Not everyone who self-nominates will be able to participate - those who miss out are encouraged to have their say via the other feedback mechanisms.  Nominees must be a resident or business (owner occupier or renter) within the North Sydney local government area. Councillors and employees of North Sydney Council cannot participate.

    Process - nominations will be recorded in date order received. Elton Consulting, a specialist community engagement consultancy, in their neutral capacity, will determine the participants ensuring a representative sample as outlined above.

Personal information captured will be used only for participation in this project and will not be disclosed to any third party without your written consent.
