Q. What is Council’s position regarding the Western Harbour Tunnel and Beaches Link proposal? Is Council for or against the proposal?

    A. Council has resolved to identify community concerns via consultation and lobby the NSW Government for a more holistic transport strategy. Refer to the Information Sheet: Council’s Position (May 2017) for more information, located in the Documents Library. Also available from Council’s website are copies of the letters sent to the NSW Government which outline Council’s concerns regarding the proposal.

Council is currently conducting community consultation (21 June to 9 July 2017) regarding the proposal with view to make a submission to the NSW Government. Feedback closes 9 July 2017 and the consultation findings must be reported to the Council meeting to be held 24 July 2017. Opportunities to have a say include via survey, mapping tool and written submission, and/or you can nominate to participate in a focus group (numbers are limited).
