Consultation has concluded
Many more people, of all ages and cycling abilities, would like to cycle for day to day transport and have indicated they will do so if safer, better connected paths are provided.
The North Shore Cycleway will be a key part of a connected network to cater for this community demand. It will provide a safe and continuous connection, mostly separated from motor vehicles, through the North Sydney CBD and to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. North Sydney Council is currently working in partnership with the NSW State Government to design this project.
In addition to cycling facilities, the project will improve and expand pedestrian areas, improve road safety, and provide new areas of landscaping, public seating and street trees.
Note: This project does not involve the RMS proposal to build a cycle ramp onto the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
A community workshop was held 26 June 2018.
There will be further opportunities to provide feedback later in 2018 when the concept design are placed on public exhibition.
